Time To Catch Up.
Hi everyone, it's been a long time since the last update and so much has happened including Deno deciding that
standing on my foot would be a lot of fun.Maybe the best way of going about this update would be try
and describe a week in the life of Deno now that he has settled in and a routine has been established.
His day starts at 6:30 with delivery of the karrit sandwiches laced with Coriolus to help his immune system -
God help us if we're late with these - The following pictures shows what happens if we dare to oversleep and get
down to him so much as an hour late!

Fortunately a recharged battery connected to the fence deters him from doing it again and order is soon
re-established!

Fortunately we are not late very often often and the morning treats are gratefully received without fuss

After the karrit sandwiches Coralie and I normally return to the house for breakfast and coffee before once
again returning to the field to give both Deno and Cuddles a quick brush down, pick out their feet and coat them
as much as possible with fly repellent. Deno's sarcoids are cleaned coated with
purple spray and liberally covered with Vaseline to keep the flies off.
After a quick check to make sure they
have plenty of clean water the terrible two are left to their own devices for the rest of the day.
In the evening we once more pop down to the field for the delightful job of collecting the rose manure so kindly
left by Deno! Why on earth he can't do it in one place like Cuddles does I do not know. If the two of
them are around we have to divert their attention by putting a few pony nuts in their decahedrons and/or Horsehage
in their hay nets. We have learnt from experience that it is not wise to ignore this procedure - failure to
keep them occupied results in you being constantly being nudged which makes collecting their big "presents"
almost impossible.

Once the muck has been collected it is time to check both Cuddles and Deno for any burdock burrs caught in their
manes or tails, once more coat them with fly repellent, clean Deno's sarcoids and coat them once more with Vaseline.
This routine continues throughout the week until the Saturday when Sam, our daughter, takes over the grooming and
does a far more professional job than either Coralie or I could ever achieve.
That in essence completes the
story of a week in the life of Deno.
